Horrorthon 7!

Scream of Fear, AKA Taste of Fear (1961). This 1961 Hammer thriller is difficult to discuss. Like Hitchcock's "Psycho", it's full of surprises. Suffice it to say, it concerns a woman who travels to her rich father's spooky house near Cannes. Creepy Christopher Lee shows up with a French accent. The female protagonist uses a wheelchair, which is unusual enough in 2014, but must have seemed very odd indeed at the time (prejudice and accessibility are even discussed). Beautifully shot and lit, almost noir, and with some genuine good acting by Susan Strasberg. 7.5/10
