Announcing the debut of a seasonal blog I started last month, DIRTY SNOW. Plan and simple, this is a photoblog of that winter phenomenon so unheralded and forlorn, bane of roadsides and parking lots: the dirty, dirty snow.

Feeling crappy!

Sorry I haven't been posting lately.
I've been busy jamming with the band and otherwise sleeping much of the time due to flu and generally feeling crap. I try not to just stick any old thing up here for the sake of it, so when this happens I tend not to post at all. Perhaps December will find me imbued with new energies?
***If you written me lately: please note some recent emails to my gmail address have been ending up in my spam folder. I am trying to do something about this, but, if you haven't heard back from me, please try again.***

Over 30,000 visits in the last year!

I added that free counter at the bottom of this page early in September last year. Since then, Penetrating Insights has seen over 30,000 visits, wow.
I realise I've been a tad slack with the blogging as of late, but my scanner hasn't been working, and it has been the summertime after all... I do hope to be posting more often now that summer is at an end, and, for that matter, now that No No Zero is back up and running.
I have some sleazy stuff lined up - but I've learned not to actually announce such things before they happen because inevitably something then prevents them from happening. Suffice it to say, there should be record shares, scans, interviews, and much, much more!
Please stay tuned for lots of fun and stuff to come!
***Sept.10/09 - This'll teach me to be so self-congratulatory. My counter has gone back to 10000! Oh well, no keeping track of the action here, I guess.***

100!

This is post #100 for Penetrating Insights & I figured that marks a good time to have a moment of honest self-appraisal here.
The simple truth is that No No Zero, the band (obstentiously the reason for the blog in the first place) hasn't done anything in the past year & doesn't look likely to be doing anything anytime too soon.
We have recording plans for this summer but, as to when that stuff (assuming it happens) might actually see the light of day, your guess is as good as mine. It's a bummer, but that's the way it is right now.
I plan to continue this blog, but the No No Zero aspect of it will likely continue to diminish. As far as what the guys in the band are doing, last May's post on that topic remains up to date AFAIK as to who is in what band.
I'll keep posting what No No Zero updates I do have here, including news from Signed By Force, who of course are selling our (strangely expensive when used) debut record Rough Stuff (now available in Europe and the U.S.).
So what can you expect to see here? Sleaze, disturb & stupid crap, as before; probably lots of scans of paperback covers & whatever else I lay my hands on, the odd essay on this or that, Uschi Digard, porn.
If you've been reading the blog already, it shouldn't be changing much. I'm just clearing the air about this as it's been on my mind.
And now, without further delay, here's some live GFE for you, Youtube style --

Updates!
First of all, some remarkable children's drawings from a display on the Armenian Genocide at the Vank Cathedral in Esfahan, Iran. These were photographed by mister jep on a recent visit, and he kindly contributes these to August's "Art Therapy Atrocity!" post. Thank you jep.
Secondly, there are some additional photos available at last Tuesday's "Oshawa's Last Night!" post; these are mostly of Guitar Army's closing set but there's one of The Cleavers (trio style) thrown in as well. You're just going to have to take my word for it that there were more than half a dozen people in the audience! Thanks to Julie for the pics and to D_W_ for sending them my way.

Hey everybody!

As this blog slowly grows and takes shape, I have become more comfortable with it all and been tinkering with the various blogging gadgets one can use. A few days ago, I decided to add a visit counter and a live traffic feed.
This has been a bit of a revelation. I sort of assumed that there were only a handful of friends looking at this thing but, as I quickly realised, I've been getting traffic from all over the world. And a lot more than I thought - I really, really wish I had added the visit counter in particular when I first started the blog. Oh well.
So I just wanted to welcome everybody to Penetrating Insights and if there's anything I can do to make things better here, please feel free to let me know. You can always leave a comment of course, or if you prefer write me direct at cheeky cheese (at) gmail (dot com).
Keep it sleazy!
